Holiday Cards from Shutterfly and a Giveaway!

I love sending and receiving mail!!!
It’s another of those traits my sweet Granny instilled in me…
Sending and receiving holiday cards especially is at the top of my snail mail list!

You might be thinking it’s a little early to be talking holiday cards, but if you’re going to take a family photo, order and have them printed, stuff, address, and mail them… Now is the time to get started!!!

I think Photo Christmas Cards are definitely my favorite. I love to choose my favorite photos from the last year and send them along with a holiday message to our nearest and dearest! Last year it was wedding photos… the year before, engagement photos… this year might be tougher to choose because we’ve done so many fun things!

Every year I order our holiday cards through Shutterfly! I love the fun themes they have that can easily be customized with your own photos.

Lazy Gardener and a Giveaway!

In my family being able to grow things is just kind of an inherited trait.
Can you pass a ‘green thumb’ down through generations?? I tend to think so… Or perhaps it’s more of a learned trait in that I grew up with both grandmothers growing gardens and flowers. My parents’ had one of the nicest yards and outside areas in our small town (maybe I’m biased, but really!).
Regardless of how I became this way I am a lover of growing things. Plants, trees, anything lush and green warms my heart!
*Cue screeching tire noise here* And then we moved to the desert of Arizona…

Don’t get me wrong, you can still grow things… It just takes alot more patience and a WHOLE lot more water!!!
Enter My Lazy Gardener!

I was able to review one of their container automatic watering devices. It’s a simple set up…
A little bit of potting soil in the bottom of your planter or other container.

The black heating element goes in next.
This is a great spot to mention that it’s a 3-in-1 device! It waters, heats your roots and aerates the soil!
You’ll want to make sure you leave out the water um… they call it a ‘moisture delivery wick’, i.e. the white tube. 😉
And of course the electrical cord!

Then you can finish potting your plant of choice!

The last steps are to use some sort of watering container to hold your water, stick the moisture wick down into and plug it into a wall outlet. I just used an old water bottle for my water reservoir.

It’s been about a week and a half since I started using My Lazy Gardener with my newest house plant.
So far I’m quite impressed! A plant that otherwise would need to be babysat to ensure enough water and what not, has been all but forgotten! I’ve only had to refill my water reservoir (the water bottle) once so far.
The plant seems to be thriving and with that I couldn’t be happier!

They also have a raised bed model that I would love to try in my flower beds outside next spring!

Last week I came home to a package on my doorstep… Inside that package was a fun Clean Care Kit from Cottonelle!
Just so you know, I only review items that I feel like I would normally use, or that our readers would be interested in using… and come on, EVERYBODY uses toilet paper!

Being that it’s summertime and summer is the busiest time of the year as far as traveling and what not goes for our family, this couldn’t have come at a better time!
