Reese’s Pieces Dessert Bars

Hi friends! How about a Tasty Tuesday post today!
Here’s a SUPER easy dessert recipe I hope you’ll love! 😉

Reese’s Pieces Dessert Bars

Ingredients
: 1 Cake mix
(I use whatever is on sale. This time around it was Betty Crocker, yellow cake… You could also use a chocolate cake mix.)
1/3 cup of oil
2 eggs
Candy! The Reece’s Pieces are what MAKES this dessert I think, but you could also use M&Ms, etc.

When I said this was easy… I meant it.
All you do is mix your ingredients together… I mix everything else and then sort of fold in the candy…
Yes, I used that whole bag… Don’t judge… 😉

Once it’s all mixed together, press it into a cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
When it’s done, the edges will be golden brown if you use a yellow cake mix.

Slice into bars and serve!
My hubs’ isn’t a big dessert fan (weird, right!?!) but he likes this treat! Reese’s Pieces are his favorite!
Hopefully your family will like it to! 😉

Happy baking lovelies!!!

Chocolate and Caramel Dipped Pretzels

Hello there!

If you’re new here, HEY HEY!!! Glad to see you! :) .
If you’re not new here, welcome back friend! :)

Have I ever mentioned that I have been blessed with some AMAZING sisters in law? I have.
I’m a lucky one. I know. 😉

St. Patrick’s Day (thus all the green! I was wearing green earrings and a ring that I won from FYI!) myself, the hubs, SIL Brianne (on the left), and our neice and nephew all drove up to visit SIL Arina (middle) and her family! They live about 4 hours away. We don’t get to see them often, but it’s always fun when we do!

We spent the afternoon making treats for Arina’s Young Women’s church group. The treats?
Chocolate AND caramel dipped pretzels! WITH…. Easter M&Ms!!

Arina used her Ninja to chop up the M&Ms.
We all (the sisters in law) got a Ninja for Christmas from our in laws! Do they choose great gifts or what?!?

Brianne and Miss Ada manned the homemade caramel on the stove. I plan to get the recipe from Arina sometime and share it here on the blog. It. Is. AMAZING. I couldn’t stop eating pretzels dipped just in the caramel!
{Did you see that ARINA?… I think she’s a Truly Lovely lurker… 😉}

We also melted chocolate chips for the chocolate and once melted, got to dipping!
All the kiddos wanted to help of course! 😉

Some we dipped just in chocolate than in the crushed M&Ms, some we dipped in caramel, chilled in the fridge, then dipped them in chocolate and M&Ms! Triple threat, what!?!
So yummy!

That afternoon as I was taking pictures we joked that they’d just made the front page of Truly Lovely. 😉
Kayli and I are so blessed to have a family that knows how much we love this blog and really supports us with it!!!

What about you?? Were you blessed with amazing in laws?
Or… What’s your favorite thing to dip in chocolate/caramel? I want to try this again soon!

Sunday Chicken with Potatoes Crock Pot Recipe

Hello dolls!!! Time again for another Tasty Tuesday! 😉

Today I’d like to share my recipe for Sunday Chicken with Potatoes!
{First seen here on The CSI Project}
The recipe is my adaptation from an old cookbook I received as a gift several years ago.
It is SUPER easy and SUPER tasty… the best kind, right!?!
Oh! And it ONLY has a few ingredients!!!

Ingredients Needed:
4-6 boneless chicken breasts
3-4 potatoes
1 packet of Onion Soup Mix
2 cans condensed Cream of Chicken soup

First, place chicken in greased crock pot.
Peel and cut your potatoes in half, then place them in the crock post as well.

Mix together your canned soup and soup mix then pour over top of chicken and potatoes.

Make sure everything is well coated.

Cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours or on LOW for 7-8 hours.

Serve! Yum, yummy!
A nice side dish might be some buttered bread or hot rolls.
OR even a salad! 😉

Have a Happy Tasty Tuesday! 😉

Peppermint Bark

This year I made Peppermint Bark to share with my coworkers for the holidays!
Last year I made , which were AMAZING… But I like to mix things up! 😉

I had planned on using that I pinned awhile back, but when I went to the grocery store, I discovered  a whole lot of awesome-ness in these Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips!!!

Ingredients needed for each batch of peppermint bark:
1 – 12 oz bag of white chocolate chips
1- 12 oz bag peppermint crunch baking chips
Cookie sheet
Parchment paper
(I had planned to use the mint flavoring but with the peppermint chips, you won’t need it!)

Long story short, you melt a bag of white chocolate chips with about half a bag of the peppermint chips in the microwave. This was my first try at melting white chocolate and at using the microwave to melt chocolate, but it worked out lovely!
Then stir in what was left of the peppermint chips (to add a little extra crunch).
Lay out some parchment paper on your baking sheet, then pour and spread the mixture onto the sheet.

Pop into the fridge for 45 minutes to an hour.
The chocolate will harden and even start peeling up from the parchment paper.

Break into pieces, package and share! :) Or not… again, we don’t judge in the sharing of treats department!
I used those handy little Ziploc Christmas bags and just wrote Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays from Kassi on the tag in black marker.

I stuck them in a bowl and took them to work to pass out! :)
If you need a quick treat for anything, it really didn’t take much time at all.
Just the wait while in the fridge! :)

Happy Tasty Tuesday lovelies!!!

Crockpot Chicken Tacos

Have I got an easy, quick, SUPER tasty recipe to share with you lovelies today!!!
I don’t know about you guys, but I LOVE my crockpot!
The hubs and I both work full time Monday-Friday!
Can I just say, THANKS for the schedule post options in blogger, or this lovely blog wouldn’t amount to much! 😉
Several evenings a week, we’re out riding, or at the arena roping…
So we don’t get home until even later.
That’s where my sweet crockpot comes in! 😉
Recently I found this recipe in an old cook book I received as a graduation present from high school…
The hubs and I both love it!
So here it is for you lovelies to enjoy too!!!

Crockpot Chicken Tacos

Ingredients Needed:
4-6 frozen boneless chicken breasts
16 oz. jar of your favorite salsa
1 cup sour cream
1 cup grated cheese
small flour or corn tortillas
(I prefer flour for this recipe)

Place the chicken in greased crockpot.
Pour the jar of salsa over the top.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 8-10 hours.
In the last hour of cooking, add the cup of sour cream.

Scoop onto your tortillas, top with cheese, then I pop mine in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the cheese…
And that’s it!! Dinner time!!!

What’s YOUR favorite crockpot recipe??
Links appreciated… 😉

Happy Tasty Tuesday!

Reese’s Pieces Cupcakes

Reese’s Pieces Peanut Buttery Cupcakes!

OK! So my hubs isn’t much for sweets.
Kind of breaks my heart… Because I LOVE to bake!!!
But once in awhile I can find something he likes.
One of his favorites, Reese’s Pieces!
What better way to incorporate Reese’s Pieces into a dessert than with Reese’s Pieces Peanut Buttery Cupcakes!!!

Ingredients Needed:

Butter Pecan Cake Mix
Muffin tin
Bag of Reese’s Pieces
Cream Cheese Icing
Cupcake Liners
AND my special secret ingredient… Apple Sauce to substitute for the oil called for in the cake mix!
Makes the cupcakes more moist!

Mix up the cake mix according to the directions, substituting oil for your cup of apple sauce of course.

Then to keep it real… Let me share my cooking FAIL
In a thin cake mix apparently… Reese’s Pieces just SINK
They’re too heavy for the light mix.
SO instead of doing what I did and just trying to mix them into the cake mix…

Go ahead and fill your cupcake liners in your muffin tin with cake mix, then drop a few Reese’s Pieces into each cupcake one at a time.

This way, you get a few in each cupcake and NOT just a huge pile of Reese’s Pieces at the bottom of your bowl…
You live you learn, then you share it on your blog so others don’t have to! 😉

Bake according to directions on the box and viola!
Yummy cupcakes!

And my new icing technique…
Saves time from just using a butter knife or spatula…
Cut off a corner of a ziploc baggy, fill with icing and go to town!!

Then of course display on your new cake plate! 😉

Happy Baking Lovelies!
And Happy Tasty Tuesday!!!
