Western Frame Earring Display

Hi there lovelies!

Today I’m so excited to share my Western Frame Earring Display with you!!!

jewelry organization

So, a couple weeks back I won a frame from Cut it Out frames via Craftionary.
I chose the Chandler 8×10 frame.

First, I painted a few of the edges in a denim blue color (using paint from a paint sample!). I only painted the edges I planned to sand, cutting down on my paint use and painting time!

blue frame edges

Once the edges were completely dry, I sprayed the entire frame in Leather Brown by Krylon. Again, let that dry completely, then I lightly sanded the edges to bring the blue through the brown.

Next, as you can see in the photo below, I measured out where I wanted my nails to go and marked the spots with a pencil point. I used horseshoe nails as my “pegs” for a more western look. Then, I carefully hammered six nails into the frame, three on each side.
Because the Cut it Out frames are made of solid wood, I was pleasantly surprised that the frame didn’t split with the nails! A normal frame might not have worked… just FYI.

I used a thin jewelry wire that I already had on hand and stretched it between two of the horseshoe nails. I just wrapped the wire around the heads of the nails and stretched it to the other side.
I printed a photo of myself and my husband from our engagement photo shoot for the background and put it in the frame.

making an earring frame display

You can see the mess my dangly earrings were in… This earring display was much needed!!!!

All the dangly earrings from my overflowing jewelry box were hung on the wire of the earring display frame.
I hung it on the wall in our bedroom to the right of my dresser. Now I can see all of my earrings and easily choose a set to wear when I get ready each morning!

Any guesses on how much this project cost me???

$0.00!!!
Since I won the frame and had everything else on hand, this pretty was completely FREE!!! Whoot!!!

 Happy crafting lovelies!!!
